Got this remote for Christmas. Since day 1 it will randomly stop responding. Lights stop working. Remove the battery door and put it back and it works again. Changed batteries and same thing. Gets even stranger. Sometimes it will start responding by itself but the leds do not flash or light up. Then sometimes the air mouse will activate itself and can’t turn it off without opening the battery door.
I love this remote when it works. Is there any sort of firmware update or reset that can be done?

The device does have a 'reset to defaults' option, however if the issues persist I would suggest you send it in for an exchange. I have a couple of these in my home and have also ran into the issue where the unit does not respond until the battery door is opened/closed, this is something I usually resolve by charging it's batteries (I use rechargeable cells, Eneloop is what I would recommend).
But for the other behaviors you are describing (operating while the LED does not respond/air mouse stuck), I would recommend exchanging for a new unit if resetting the device to defaults does not correct it (Note: doing this will wipe any learned IR buttons)
